Have you ever gotten a job by applying online?
I am getting my first job, I’m currently in College (UK) and I don’t have time to go out giving people my CVs
So I am sitting here and applying for any job I can think of that I can do online.
Is it a waste of time, do they actually check them.
Has anyone been employed through applying online?

I always get jobs from online.
Yes, from snagajob.com
No, but here’s some places where you can apply online:
- Greggs
- Debenhams
- HMV
- Boots
- Costa
You can also send out your CV’s by post, just look for the address of your local branch of the store on the stores website and you may get an interview, I’ve had success this way.
I’ve had four jobs, and three of them I applied online for. Most places are going to online applications only. I work two jobs right now, and both of them only consider the online applications. If its a job that requires a resume and you apply online sometimes it is good to take the resume into the employer also, so they have a paper copy of it. After applying online, call and ask to check on your application. It shows your interested or even stopping by to speak to a manager. I used to think the employer would think I was lazy if i applied online, but it really shows you have some common sense to be able to use the internet. Best wishes to you.
I have gotten 3 jobs from monster.com before. You have to apply to a lot of jobs, it is a numbers game.
For example, if you apply for 30 jobs, you will probably get about 3 interviews, and 1 job offer.
Whatever you do, don’t just apply for 3 jobs and wait by the phone. it doesn’t work that way.
ive gotten 3 jobs without even leaving my house thorugh an online application. what type of job are you looking for? i got my current job by applying online and getting a phonecall a few hours later for an interview and this was for a retail store on london. so yes they do check them and if they take long to get back its probably because so many people apply online these days because alot of shops no longer accept CVs. try websites for places like Boots, Iceland, John Lewis, River Island, Sainsburys, Next, Marks and Spencer, Mcdonalds, PC World, Currys, Gap and HMV, and thats just a few to name theres probably a few more and make sure you keep checking if there arent any that come up its because they take the vacancy down after a while and sometimes after a certain amount of people apply for a particular vacancy it dissapears so theres not too many people to deal with. good luck and make sure you keep checking for those vacancies!
