If I were to put up an ad for a job, I'd like to see the applicants. Applying online is not bad, some do answer. But in these days where everything is impersonal and high tech, going in for an application adds a little personal touch. You could do the online thingy, but follow through with a personal visit and ask if they received it or confirm if they hired somebody. If the post is still available, mention that you applied online. Chances are they would look it up or ask you to fill up the traditional paper. Try it, you might land a job in no time. Peace!

i have got all my jobs by applying online.
it is standard to do an in person interview as well.
the trick is to put a sh*t load of stuff in your cv, even if it the smallest job is simple and crap, make it sound in depth and complicated like only a trained person can do it.
simply spin a bit of sh*t not too much that you get your self over your head cause it will catch up.

no employer reads even half the of the application they are way too busy.
this is a tactic that will get you the interview.
worked every time for me.
good luck.

Most people who apply online end up not getting the job. They want to see that you are willing to put in more effort. Applying by both written application and online forms will show you're serious about it. Also you should go in and talk with the manager occassionally, and ask questions, show interest!
