How can I find a job in the accounting industry right out of college?

I have no experience in accounting except a Bachelor’s degree. I’ve been sending out resumes on monster, careerbuilder, etc. and I haven’t had much luck. What are some other ways to find a job and how long do you think it will take until I become employed? I live in Chicago by the way.
I’ve tried craigslist as well.

I know this is going to sound strange but try looking on craigslist, they have a job section.

Finding a job now is going to be rather hard especially with no experience. Try to find an internship, even though you won’t be paid you will get valuable experience that you can use on a future job application.

Ignore the spam above my post.

Try getting into Accountemps and some of the other companies that supply temporary business employees. I started through there working on a project for my state’s retirement agency. It not only gave me experience, but also allowed me to earn a living until I got a permanent position with a company 4 months later.
