How do jobsearch sites like hotjobs and monster make money other than advertising? Do they charge per job post? How do they do it and how much do they charge?

   They get a commission from businesses that pick a prospective employer from their website. In that way they work very similar to headhunter companies.

   Many or most job search sites charge companies to post jobs and another charge to search resumes.
   They charge based upon the features the companies want. Typically job postings 3-5 per month for a year is approx $5000 to $6000 US Dollars with some resume searching thrown in. This is for the bigger boards. However, even the regional boards tend to charge that much.
