How fast can I find a job as a teacher assistant in New York?
I am from Albania and recently moved to New York. I have a bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance but I want to work as a teacher assistant in NY. I will take the ATAS test on the 4rth of April but the official scores come up after a month. Is it possible to find a job soon in this area?

I am not aware of a teacher assistant other than with handicapped students and I am not aware of any degree being required. There are teacher aides as well and again, they are usually in classes that might be overcrowded or where there are kids who need extra help. They often help a teacher with some kids as the teacher works with others.
With a degree, you might be able to get a teaching position as a substitute teacher or even in some areas, become a teacher if no qualified teacher is available but you need to take teaching classes at night until you can get your certification. Check into it. You might be able to work as an accounting teacher and get the teaching credentials in night school.

Some states have county offices and superintendents there and they often do the hiring of substitutes and may know where there are positions available. They can also tell you what is required to get your certification, even if itt is temporary certification until you get your regular certification.
