Probably its a good idea to take accreditation tests just to make sure that your country qualification standard is on par with the Australian standard. probably try google and search for health.gov.au. The next step is to look for the available jobs online probably using search engines such as seek.com.au or careerone.com.au

Good luck and hope you get the job

To settle you have to apply for a PR visa which requires your career/skill to be on the Critical Skills list.

Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife and Registered Mental Health nurse are all on the list BUT you need to have at least 2 years experience in your own country before you can apply. Then you have to go rigorous background, medical etc test and you have to be one of the 100,000 selected (as there is a limit on the number of migrations per year – this number has dropped by 1/3 so far in 2009 with a further drop expected). You will have to pay around 5K in fees to get your application started and show around 40-60K per person in savings to provide for yourself for one year in the event you do not get a job.

A friend of mine has only now got a FT nursing job after trying for 3 years. She has been a casual and she had 15 years experience in Australia before moving to Japan for a year. So it might not be easy.
