How to find a job in a medical office?
I’m a premed student who is interested in working for a doctor’s office and trying to gain clinical assistance while helping out the doctors as well. The only problem is that I don’t have any prior experience working in a medical office, just hospital volunteer experience and babysitting. Recently I’ve been cold calling doctors offices, emailing and faxing resumes and leaving messages on their answering machines for the past week or so, but was wondering if their was anything I could do to increase my chances. Any advice?

I seen TONS of jobs posted on craigslist for the medical field. Most of these are LPN and RN positions, but you occasionally see stuff like medical secretary positions open.
You would want to try doing a medical secretary or receptionist job within the medical clinic. Another thing that you can do, is to try the larger clinics that might have the option of you being able to volunteer your time. Also, take a look at some of the outpatient clinics in the hospitals, and that is like working in a clinic setting too that will allow you to get the experience within this type of environment
