How to find a job with less than a year experience?

A friend of mine is looking for work. She only has 6 months experience working in a bank. After she graduated college, she registered with temp agencies. However, temp agencies is not finding her work right now. All of them put her on the waiting list. She is tired of waiting. She applied for bank teller jobs and two of them they told her she did not “qualify”. How would she find a job that could last for a year or more?

I think she needs to research why she doesn’t qualify. Then she’ll know what it is that she needs to change.

If you don’t mind me asking, what geographic area are you from? The only reason I ask is that from my experience, banks around the Northeast (where I am from) are dying for people to come in and work as tellers.

    Also, what is her major?
