What is the hiring process at a fast food restaurant?

What is the hiring process at a fast food restaurant? When I turn in an application, how long will it take to get an interview if they are in fact hiring? Never had a job before and really need one to help pay for school, just trying to understand the whole process.

you go in, fill out a four sentence application (your name, address, if you’ve worked before and telephone #)

if they’re hiring, they’ll say, “wait here. someone will be with you shortly.” The person will ask why you want to work there (don’t say money, even if it’s true. Say something like, “I like the food”, or “You sound like a good company to work for”.

Then they’ll say, :how much do you want, and you say, (whatever you really will take plus a dollar), and you both meet in the middle BUT you’ll probably get minimum.

then they tell you what the clothing requirements are and 90 percent of the time, they’ll say come back for orientation.

It’s not a hard process. Very easy and fast, and designed that way because turnover is high.

–listen, fast food is bad. The pay isn’t good, the conditions are bad–hot grease, filtering hot grease, burns and cuts, overwork, chemicals for the floor and cleaning, degreaser burns and it’s just overall, not a good place for anyone, much less children still too young to stand up for themselves. If you have a spare day or two, broaden your search pattern and hit the local mall too. Maybe the kiosks or retail shops. Even the grocery store. Sometimes your school (through the guidance offie?) has jobs for students.

    good luck
